Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak Breaks Record
The All-Electric Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak recently broke the All-Time Speed Record at the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Not only did the VW I.D. R beat the conventional gasoline-powered race cars during the 2018 challenge, it also shattered the previous electric car record and the overall record by a full 16 seconds with a time of 7m 57.148s. Pikes Peak rises 14,114 feet above sea level and the road to the top is 19.99 kilometers or about 12.4 miles long and consists of 156 hairpin turns. This incredible feat by the Volkswagen I.D.
